M. Batuhan Aydın (b. July 20, 2002) was born in Turkey to two dedicated teachers. From an early age, Batuhan exhibited a deep curiosity for the world around him, supported by his parents who encouraged him to pursue his diverse passions. Initially drawn to the field of engineering, he began his studies at Yıldız Technical University (YTU) in Istanbul, focusing on Marine Engineering. However, after a year, he sought new experiences and embarked on a transformative journey as a European Solidarity Corps Long-Term volunteer in Italy.
During his time in Italy, Batuhan’s interest in photography blossomed. Immersed in the culture of a small Piedmontese village named Bergolo, he captured the essence of his travels, exploring over 15 countries and countless cities, amassing over 25,000 photographs. His experiences in backpacking, hitchhiking, and trekking across Europe were not just adventures but profound learning opportunities that shaped his artistic vision. The strong relationships he built in Bergolo allowed him to become deeply intertwined with the local community, making every moment of his volunteer work both meaningful and memorable.
In addition to his photography, Batuhan contributed to Erasmus projects, working alongside seasoned artists who significantly broadened his perspective. This period of exploration and growth led him to make a pivotal decision: he chose to leave his university studies in Istanbul and pursue a new path in Austria, where he began studying Artificial Intelligence at JKU Linz.
Today, Batuhan continues to explore the world with a camera in hand, constantly seeking new experiences and inspiration. Whether traveling, engaging in vibrant social activities, or diving into his studies, he approaches life with the same enthusiasm and openness that have guided him thus far.
The goal in life: To blend the technical with the creative, forging a path where innovation and art coexist. Photography remains a core passion, but his work in AI opens new doors for creative expression. The journey is ongoing, filled with discovery, learning, and, most importantly, joy.
